Парня всю жизнь дразнили всякие придурки - однокласснЕчки гребаные, потом лоеришки недоделанные и т.д.

Его это все достало, он купил пушку и замочил кого попало!

Потому, что НЕ ФИГ БОГАТЕНЬКИМ РАССИСТАМ ДРАЗНИТЬ ПРОСТОГО КОРЕЙСКОГО ПАРНЯ, ЯСНО?!

И ГОВОРИТЬ ЧТО БИТЬ ПО МОРДЕ В ОТВЕТ - НЕПОЛИТКОРЕКТНО!

ПРОСТО ЕСЛИ ДОВЕСТИ ЧЕЛОВЕКА ТАКИМ ОБРАЗОМ, ТО ОН БУДЕТ МОЧИТЬ.

Just in case you are interested in the pathology of this case: The boy was mentally ill with Axis I diagnosis with symptoms of delusions and paranoid ideations (i don't think anyone really disclosed the actual diagnosis yet, but there are speculations). This information was taken from what we know from his previous hospitalization. There are speculations that he might have had personality disorder. At the press conference with this discharging psychiatrist (i heard it on NPR this morning), he said: "we care about his safety and not the safety of others". This was his defence statement for discharging him into the community. FYI: one of the criteria for psychiatric hospitalization is and always was 'harm to self OR OTHERS'. I guess the doctors didn't really evaluate the harm to others criteria. Too bad for Virginia Tech. Because that is exactly the criteria that needed to be evaluated in his case. (Znal bi prikup, zhil bi v sochi).

The boy was also possibly on drugs, as at the last tape his eyes were drooppy and his speech slured.

Thus, there might have been a number of reasons why he did it: metnal illness mixed with self-medicating (drugs)......bullying? I think most people going through being bullied, but they don't take it upon themselves to kill people. So, in short: He was sick, and unfortunatelly had access to the gun......

Also, did you know that in most cases, when people who lived next to criminals, and found out about it, that people prefered to move away rather than report them to the police? Well, my educated guess is that in this situation this is similar. I think more people knew about his instability that we will every find out. Most people give him positive charactiristics (in general), most likely because they are ridden with guilt that they did not report him.

These are my three cents.

well, what we'll find out is not necessarily the truth. media makes is so prestigious nowadays to come up with lot's of details afterwords. there are three things i personally did not like the most. one is that victims did not even try to defend themselves. second is that school did not call the police until first victims were shot. and the third is that police did nothing at all - they were sitting and waiting. if, as they stated, that idiot was mentally ill, especially with axis 1, and was not closely monitored... well... i do not know what else to say.

Nu da, media f-cked up all together this time around. With the tapes, with glorifying this entire event. What a way to intensify the pain of those who already suffered enough....

But what really pissed me off is the statement from the psychiatrist. i mentioned it above. we try to hospitalize people and cannot do it because "they are not a threat to others or self", and here we have a situation when a person is clearly a threat to others, and NOTHING is done. no follow up plan, nothing....... mental health system screwed up majorly because they didn't know what to do with this guy..... Police - well, they are as always very 'protective' of its citizens. Ny zato oni pyanix studentov za shum arestovivayout i probation dayout za disturbance of the peace for six months.....

Я не оправдываю его.
Просто хочу чтобы все понимали, что причина это сделать у него была,
виноват в этом не только он, а те неприметные придурки, которые доводили,
и за нее кто-то должен был расплатиться...
И как это часто бывает совсем не те...
Да, он evil. Но есть конкретные люди которые для этого постарались
и те, которые закрыли на это глаза...
К сожалению drugs не лечат саму причину, а купируют симптомы....

я с тобой абослютно согласна. лекарства не лечат причину. и то что мы должны учить наших детей быть терпимыми это вообще золотые слова. я так же согласна, что те кто гноят слабых - есть само зло, и от чати виноваты за то что произошло. согласна что система закрывает глаза на тех дебилов которые глоят слабых, так как многим все равно. я вообщем-то вообще не спорю:-).

но так как я работаю в этой системе, для меня то, что mental health system, school system and police system не были источником серьезной помощи........ ну скажем так - немного пугает. а спорить о том что правда и что нет - безсмысленно, так как ситуация более эмоциональная, чем логическая, и все реагируют по разному. на самом деле главное в этом деле не безразличие и не глорификация того что происходило (во втором, как я сказала пресса береборщила как всегда). будь ты за оружие, или против, за вооружение школ, за metal detectors в школах, т.д. т.п. какая вообщем то разница? это, как ты и сам сказал не вылечит причину того что ведет к таким трагедиям......
